We sailed the Vuurschepen and North Sea Race last week with a team of eleven. I enjoyed it a lot. Beforehand I was a little nervous about being seasick, 5 days with 11 people in a very confined space, gout in my ankle and not sure if I was able to steer the Flyer fast. So I bought the best and largest boots available on the market, an extra layer of clothing and got American/Indonesian medicines against seasickness, downloaded the Navionics App and plotted all the racing marks in it. I felt ready.
The atmosphere on board was great. Lot of laughter about nothing and during the week it became clear what each ones competencies are. We learned a lot and feel much better prepared for the race to the Fastnet rock in August.
