The Dutch Top Olympic Sailors share their insights with you!
The sailors of the Dutch Olympic Team are preparing for the Olympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. But they are too successful… More teams than budgeted have made the selection criteria. So they are in need of some cash.
As I share elsewhere at this website, I learn a lot from sailing. The feedback is very direct: with every tack it is clear if you made the right or the wrong decision. You lose some water or you win some. In work there is usually more ambiguity. But it’s always easy for me to transfer my learnings from sailing to the business world and I often use examples in my consultancy practice. These resonate well with my clients.
So combining the need for cash and learning from sailing, I came up with the idea to facilitate mini workshops for our UNOO clients together with the Olympic Sailors. The client will share with us what topic he is especially interested in: leadership, coaching, teamwork, setting up a winning campaign or something totally different. Together with an Olympic sailor we prepare and facilitate the workshop. UNOO works for free and the client decides what the value is of our efforts. The money generated, will be spend to get all (approved by NOC-NSF) sailors to Rio. TNT, ABN AMRO and Nyenrode have already showed their interest (and booked us).
In the flyer you will find more information about this initiative: The Road to Rio 2016
Please let me now (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you see an opportunity for such a mini-workshop in your organization. We will taylor it to your specific needs and ideas. We are looking forward to hear from you!

Next week our first workshop with the Sailing Olympians for the International Top 80 Executives of a multinational. We dive deeper into resilience, setting the conditions to excel and keeping course in strong headwinds!
The difference between winning and loosing is minuscule both in sports and in business. Therefore it is very interesting to listen to the Olympic sailing coaches of the Dutch team and learn from them what makes a team win gold. There are many lessons to be learned!!
